1. Good work takes time.
Good work takes time, and most of the time and effort behind good project outcomes remains forever invisible. Never give up; give the time needed. The devil is in the details.
2. Create with passion and drive.
Take pride in your work, inspire others to excel, and be dedicated to solving tough problems. Hold yourselves to the highest standards, as rising tides raise all ships.
3. Collaboration = innovation.
Great teams are collaborative, hard working, and dedicated. Not just creative teams. Be willing to do what it takes to get the job done so we can accomplish more and win together.
4. Always learn. Constantly grow.
Always have a growth mindset, and reject the status quo. Take a unique approach and make every effort to bring clarity to complex problems. It leads to good design.
5. Good design is honest.
It does not make a product more innovative, powerful or valuable than it really is. Never attempt to manipulate people with empty promises, you cannot deliver on.
6. Radical candor works.
Being clear, candid, and kind, will not leave room for interpretation about what you really think. Be open to the reality that empathy and feedback can be a gift for growth. Practicing for 30+ years.
